Elite Challenge Final Wolvega

The main race at Wolvega this Wednesday is the Elite Challenge Final with a very interesting field. My favourite here is Thai Investment from the stables of Henk Grift. Has been unbelievably strong here at Wolvega with Jaap van Rijn and has an enormous amount of speed in the last stretch. Has been quite unlucky in his two previous races which resulted into disqualifications. Should not be taking into account in my opinion.

The second favourite is clearly Urbanio. His form has had some question marks for a longer period of time now, but he truly found himself at Mons again with Jos Verbeeck in the bike. Will now be driven by Rick Ebbinge, his regular driver. Horse that can race from head and rope and from the field, if his shape didn’t change after Mons he’s very dangerous for the win.

Next I want to mention Ustang Ludois, has been quite unlucky in his previous races but is a strong racehorse. Typically races from the back of the field to slowly progress to the front. Could be an issue here with multiple strong finishers. Would like to see him from the lead in this race but the starting number behind the gate is hard. Horse for first four without a doubt.

Flavius is known for his incredible finish, he’s fast from out of the field and has surprised opponents before. Here with trainer Dion Tesselaar in the bike which indicates (also looking at his past performances, in his last five races he only finished out of the top three once) he’s in great shapw right now and should absolutley not be ignored.

Panoramic, the stable mate of the favourite Thai Investment, won his last race in Belgium thanks to a nice finish. A lot of his opponents in that race got unlucky and Panoramic used that in his advantage. Finished second in the ‘Prijs der Giganten’ last year and has been quite consistent since then. Hasn’t impressed lately against these horses but surprises more often.
